The 11 Geekiest Tattoos Ever Inked
There are plenty of Hitchhiker’s Guide tattoos, but I have yet to see one as perfectly humorous and complexly obscure to those who haven’t read the series.
The one above is my favorite from this set. Also check out more tattooeys from Mental Floss:

What If The Unicorns Don’t Give a Shit About Our Problems?
Personally, I’m an optimist. I believe the unicorns give a shit about my problems.
This whole thing was something I never questioned, UNTIL NOW!

The Photos That Inspired Norman Rockwell’s Paintings
A prolific artist, Rockwell produced over 4,000 original works in his lifetime. What some people may be unaware of is that Rockwell meticulously composed photographs that he used as part of his artistic process to create his famous paintings and illustrations.
The sailor looks a smidgen more pleasant in the photo on the left.
Many of the photos linked article come from the The Norman Rockwell Museum. If you poke around there, be sure to check out Heroes & Villains: The Comic Book Art of Alex Ross.

The past and the future of famous logos
We review the history and imagine how Apple and other famous logos will look like in the future.
Of course the Pepsi logo above is my favorite.

Juxtapoz Magazine - Out Of Place: Works by Robert Rickhoff
This is how we like to kick off the year, with a series of Out of Place objects constructed by a very clever Robert Rickhoff. Playground slides that lead you to oncoming traffic, volleyball courts on the autobahn, skate ramp crosswalks, all situations that are going to lead you to some sort of disaster. Rickhoff is based in Germany, and works as an allaround creative.
Genius.

Art review: ‘Roy Lichtenstein: A Retrospective’ at the National Gallery
“Roy Lichtenstein: A Retrospective”: An expansive collection: The first full retrospective of Roy Lichtenstein’s career since the artist died in 1997 at the age of 73 arrives at the National Gallery of Art on Sunday. The 134-object exhibition will be sprawled over 15,000 square feet. Here’s a look at some of the works that will be featured, spanning his early pop paintings, his “Black-and-White” series and his Chinese landscape series, made in the artist’s last decade.
I saw the Lichtenstein Retrospective at the National Gallery in D.C. on the weekend. It was unruly. Genius. Beyond Reason. Go if you can. A+++

Sweet Star Wars x Dr. Seuss Mash-ups - My Modern Metropolis
Former Disney animator and character artist Jason Peltz combines his love for Star Wars and Dr. Seuss’ books in this sweet, ongoing series. While for one he’s replaced the famous cat in the hat with a happily grinning Yoda (borrowing a line from Mr. Ed), in still others he’s made Chewbacca and droids the stars! As he tells us, “I had been seeing a lot of artwork all over the Internet featuring crossovers or mash-ups of well-know properties. These two were very much a part of my childhood, even my adulthood - being an animator and illustrator, it seemed like a perfect marriage! The biggest challenge is referencing a well-known cover that will work with the rhyming and character art.”
I didn’t have much luck finding a place to buy the prints. :-(

Our Solar System’s Fellow Inhabitants as…
Our Solar System’s Fellow Inhabitants … as imagined by pulp fiction artist Frank R. Paul in 1940. Check out the rest of the collection here, they are pretty awesome. For the record, I do not recommend…
Apparently the shark walri also wear lipstick.
As I grow older, I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.
